Black pigmented dye is easily visible, present in the muscularis propria, indicative of prior biopsy site.


Previously snared malignant biopsies are difficult to localize again upon re-operation. Endoscopic injection of ink into the excisional biopsy site therefore provides a means for identification in the event additional procedures are deemed necessary after pathological examination.
